A roundtable dedicated to the demographic crisis

To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Rotary’s establishment in Bulgaria, Rotary Club Sofia organized a roundtable dedicated to the pressing issue of the demographic crisis in the country. The event gathered experts, public figures, and representatives of Rotary clubs to discuss the present and future demographic trends in Bulgaria.

Rotary Club Sofia Triaditsa was honorably represented at this important meeting by Denitsa Vineva, who actively participated in the discussions and the presentation of perspectives for overcoming the demographic challenges. The discussions focused on the current state of the population in Bulgaria, exploring the main reasons for the declining population, including emigration, low birth rates, and economic factors contributing to the demographic crisis.

The meeting highlighted the need for targeted strategies and policies to stimulate birth rates, improve living and working conditions in Bulgaria, and attract Bulgarian citizens who have chosen to live and work abroad. Participants in the discussion also emphasized the importance of education, healthcare, and social services as key areas where reforms are needed to address demographic challenges.

The initiative of Rotary Club Sofia to organize such an event underscores Rotary’s commitment to social issues and finding sustainable solutions. The roundtable provided a platform for sharing ideas and best practices, thereby contributing to raising awareness and mobilizing efforts to overcome one of the most serious crises facing Bulgaria today.
