Once again, Rotary Club Sofia Triaditsa took the lead in a noble initiative to enhance community health and well-being by organizing a screening for amblyopia in the Izgrev district, examining over 1000 children.
The screenings were conducted by a highly qualified team of ophthalmologists from the Department of Optometry at the Faculty of Physics, Sofia University, and their students. This partnership not only demonstrates the power of collaboration between civil society and the academic community but also highlights Rotary Club’s commitment to implementing innovative and effective approaches to addressing community issues.
The impressive professionalism of the medical team and the administration of the kindergartens in the area was a key factor in the success of the initiative. Thanks to their commitment and efforts, the screening went smoothly and efficiently, providing important health checks for the children that could have a lasting positive impact on their vision and quality of life.
This project by Rotary Club Sofia Triaditsa is an example of true leadership in public health and demonstrates how organized efforts can lead to significant and measurable results in support of community health and well-being. It underscores the importance of early diagnosis for the prevention of vision problems and serves as an inspiration for future initiatives aimed at improving children’s health.
