For the second year, we carried out amblyopia screening in Sofia. This year, we visited kindergartens in the Studentski District.
The well-being of children is close to our hearts, including the health of their eyes. Amblyopia, often referred to as “lazy eye,” is a commonly occurring but sometimes overlooked childhood vision disorder. To raise general awareness and the importance of prevention, we recently organized a screening in the kindergartens of the Studentski District.
We visited all kindergartens in the area and, with the help of the exceptional specialists from Lozenetz Hospital, we checked the children for signs of amblyopia and other eye diseases. The process was fast, non-invasive, and tailored to be pleasant for the children.
We managed to identify children who would need a more in-depth examination. The results have been passed on to their parents. The feedback from them and the educators is overwhelmingly positive. We are delighted to have served the community and thank the doctors from Lozenetz Hospital for their professionalism and dedication.
