On March 19, 2017, members of Rotary Club Sofia Tangra, Rotary Club Sofia Vazrazhdane and Preliminary Rotary Club Sofia Triaditsa completed their joint project for afforestation and refreshment of green areas in Sofia. The selfless Rotarians planted 55 trees in Knyazhevska Garden, the yard of Alexandrovska Hospital and Yuzhen Park.
The project was fully funded by the three Sofia clubs. More than thirty Rotarians joined the initiative. The aim of the project is to increase and refresh the green areas in the Capital and thus with small steps to contribute to a cleaner environment and more pleasant places for walks and recreation in the city. The theme of the project fully meets the goals of Rotary for the 2017/2018 Rotary year, namely a clean environment with more green space. The idea of the project was very well received by the members of the three partner clubs, which in turn gave rise to ideas for new initiatives to expand the scope of project activities and attract other clubs to get involved in future “green” activities.
